Nahal halilim
Looking for a park that offers an easy walking trail and ancient ruins? Nahal Halilim is for you. Though it is located in a suburb of Jerusalem, Mevaseret Zion in the Mountains of Jerusalem, Nahal Halilim offers a fairly easy trail into the wadi of Nahal Halilim. The trail is marked in green. During your hike you will see remains from the Second Temple and the Byzantine periods including wine presses and a mikveh. As the path continues, you will enter the Halilim Cave which is 40m long. It is recommended that you bring a flashlight to explore the cave. Though you can hike the trail all year round, the flowers are known to be most beautiful in the spring. The hike is about 2 hours roundtrip.
